What initially sparked your interest in accounting, and how did you start your career?

I actually accidentally became an accountant. I was doing the admin and basic bookkeeping for my dad and applied for a different bookkeeping job. Instead, I was given the role of trainee accountant. I enjoyed it and was good at it, so I stuck with it.

What's the most common misconception about accountants?

That we are all boring and tight. I don’t know many like that!

What do you find most rewarding about working in accounting?

Building relationships with clients.

What area of Norwich/Norfolk do you enjoy the most?

The Norfolk countryside is beautiful, and there are so many great places for dog walks.

In your opinion, what sets Perk apart from others in the industry?

Perk is a really friendly team who are always happy to help. We offer a much more personal service than most firms.

How do you unwind after a busy day at the office?

With two kids and a puppy, there’s not much unwinding!
