Meet the team: Amy

What initially sparked your interest in accounting, and how did you start your career?

I fancied a career change and had previously worked for HM Prison Service and the NHS. I wanted to try something totally different.

What's the most common misconception about accountants?

That we are boring, but we’re really not! Oh, and that we can all do mental math, but we all love a calculator!

What do you find most rewarding about working in accounting?

Solving clients’ problems and helping them with their accounts. Building rapport and getting to know my clients.

What area of Norwich/Norfolk do you enjoy the most?

The Broads. It's beautiful, and we are very lucky to have it on our doorstep.

In your opinion, what sets Perk apart from others in the industry?

We are personable with all clients, which I believe builds trust, as they know who they are talking to, and we are always happy to help. We have some highly experienced accountants and are continually building the business. We always go above and beyond for our clients, ensuring we maintain regular contact so they know we are always there.

How do you unwind after a busy day at the office?

I spend time with my partner and children and/or go to the gym.
